Newsletter No.12

Message from the President

Things are moving in the right direction and the Committee is working hard towards the AMQAS 2010 being held in Adelaide early October. I trust you have all been thinking about your entries, if not started on them already. We are very excited to add an additional category “Art/Pictorial”. I know a number of you will also be excited about this news. We have some wonderfully talented Quilters out their covering all facets of Quilting & Design, so this will give everyone the opportunity to showcase there style.

While on the subject of the Show. We have had a number of Members volunteer there time for various tasks that will arise over the days, and I thank them very much. However, we still require more volunteers. The more that we have, the less time you will be required for each session. This will give everyone time to enjoy the show, attend workshops etc., So if you will be able to help even for a couple of hours, that would be fantastic.

I would like to take this opportunity in welcoming Suzanne Cappello. Suzanne is our new Web Diva and we are over the moon that she has decided to come on board. So if you have any news or ideas for placement on the web site, please contact Suzanne.

Our Membership is increasing by the day and this only goes to show that you are behind the Association 100%. We are all very passionate about this industry and hope to have your continued support in the future. With this in mind, our AGM is being held Thursday 12th August 2010 on Skype . We look forward to receiving your nomination for a position on the Committee.

Till next time

Cheers

Terry Elverd

President AMQA Inc.,

Reminder - Marketing Opportunity for AMQA Members!

These will be hung along with your information for all attendees to view and collect your details. We had a fantastic display last year with many shops in attendance taking note on who to ask to quilt their samples in the future!! Great advertising for your business.

Hanging will be by pinning to the black carpet covered walls that are used at the shows for booth dividers. So no sleeve is required. Please ensure there is a label attached securely to your quilt and deliver in a fabric bag inside your envelope/box.
